The Ceylon Motor Sports Club hosted the ACBT Mahagastota Festival of Speed in the picturesque hills of Nuwara Eliya. Established in 1934, the Mahagastota Hill Climb is Sri Lanka’s oldest motorsport event, drawing generations of racing enthusiasts and competitors eager to take on its demanding uphill course.
This year’s edition was a show of skill, precision and high-octane competition, as riders and drivers pushed their machines to the limit on the legendary track. The festival featured motorcycles and modern racing cars with competitors ranging from grassroots to high performance machines.
Known for its steep inclines, tight corners and unpredictable mountain weather, the race tested the skills of Sri Lanka’s racing talent.
The event also included the Mahagastota Historic Parade, where 55 classic cars were showcased before taking on the legendary hill climb. Some of Sri Lanka’s most exquisite historic vehicles were on display, offering motorsport fans and classic car enthusiasts a glimpse into the golden era of motoring.
