SriLankan Airlines won the Outstanding Food Service by a Carrier – South Asia award at the PAX Readership Awards 2025.
Held on 9 April in Germany, and organised by PAX International and PAX Tech magazines, the awards are based on votes from over 15,500 aviation professionals worldwide, making the national carrier’s accolade a glittering recognition of its culinary standards.
Head of Commercial at SriLankan Airlines Dimuthu Tennakoon thanked voters and highlighted the airline’s commitment to delivering inflight meals that elevate the passenger experience.
He revealed that the national carrier constantly reviews feedback to ensure its menus are fresh, diverse and tailored to traveller preferences.
SriLankan Airlines’ inflight menu brings an international flair blended with local flavours from across its network. For its South Asian routes, the airline offers dishes inspired by India, the Maldives, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.
A highlight across all routes is the SriLankan Flavours menu. Using heritage recipes and authentic local ingredients, the airline serves delicious classics such as egg roti with paraw fish curry and crumb fried prawns, ghee rice with traditional curries, heirloom rice with chicken pepper curry and local vegetables and lamprais.
This menu also won the 2024 International Flight Services Association (IFSA) award for Best Inflight Food or Beverage Innovation.
