For starters, Colombo ranks 33rd globally for accessibility and liveability, according to the Brand Finance Global City Index. Sri Lanka’s visa free entry for nationals from 35 countries makes the commercial capital one of the easiest South Asian cities to visit.
On the global soft power front, Sri Lanka’s appeal continues to grow – it has climbed 15 places for lifestyle appeal, making a giant leap of 33 spots for inclusivity and tolerance. The country is also showing a strong commitment to sustainability by improving in eco-friendly initiatives and climate action.
Sri Lanka’s healthcare sector is another stand out with two of its academic medical centres – the National Hospital of Sri Lanka and Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRH) – being placed in the Brand Finance Global Top 250 Hospitals 2025 rankings.
