Colombo Port has climbed into the global Top 20 container ports, handling 4.44 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) in the first half of the year, an 11.9 percent year-on-year increase. The port rose from 26th to 20th place, while the Sri Lanka Ports Authority expects up to US$2 billion in investments over the next one to three years.
