The third edition of Gem Sri Lanka 2026 is set to sparkle in Colombo from 7 to 9 January at the Shangri-La Colombo, promising to be a marquee event on the international gemstone calendar.

Hosted by the Ceylon Gem and Jewellery Traders’ Association (CGJTA), the upcoming exhibition is themed ‘The Source. The Production’ and is expected to draw over 1,500 foreign buyers.

“This event was held in Beruwela for two years but growing demand meant we needed a bigger venue and Colombo is the perfect new home,” CGJTA Chairman Rizwan Nayeem said, at the launch event on 27 August.

Recognised globally as a hub for high-quality gemstones, Sri Lanka will showcase its journey from mining to expert cutting, highlighting the skills and craftsmanship that define the sector.

Chairman of Gem Sri Lanka Hilmy Cassim added that the exhibition will offer a vital networking platform and connect local traders with leading international buyers.

With its growing reputation, Gem Sri Lanka 2026 will not only position the country as a leading source of gemstones but also reinforce its status on the world stage, promising opportunities, partnerships and a precious showcase of Sri Lanka’s rich gem heritage.
